Impact of printing on fashion Designs

Hello madam,

I am Senthil kumar(ECE A,08UEC063) .I have collected some info on fashion printing below.

Textile printing is the process of applying colour on the fabrics in definite patterns or fashion designs. In properly printed fabrics the colour is bonded with the fiber, so as to resist washing and friction. Textile printing is related to dyeing but, in dyeing the whole fabric is uniformly covered with one colour whereas in printing one or more colours are applied to certain parts and in sharply defined patterns.

Traditional textile printing techniques may be broadly categorised into four styles:

  • Direct printing, in which colourants containing dyes, thickeners, and the mordants or substances necessary for fixing the colour on the cloth are printed in the desired fashion design.
  • The printing of a mordant in the desired fashion design prior to dyeing cloth; the color adheres only where the mordant was printed.
  • Resist dyeing ,in which a wax or other substance is printed onto fabric which is subsequently dyed. The waxed areas do not accept the dye, leaving uncoloured patterns against a coloured ground.
  • Discharge printing, in which a Bleaching agent is printed onto previously dyed fabrics to remove some or all of the colour.

Further,we have fashion printing service is digitally printed on cotton and silk. Scanned images from art and photos, designs with multiple color are used for printing dress designs. Cotton, lycra and silk fabrics are mostly used for fashion trade i.e. for printing dress designs

As a fashion designer the importance of following the new trends and fashion is known. Digital textile fashion printing is offering just that. Digital textile printing meets the demand for the individual fashion design concept. Designs, that were not possible yesterday, with no limitation in colors are now available. Any of the designs choosen ,can be instantly printed using digital textile printing.

Hope my information is prior to the topic given ...

Yours sincerly,

M.Senthil Kumar

"Friends are like crayons.They colour our lives.I may not be your favourite colur;
but hope you will need me somewhere to complete your picture"
